RESOLUTION AGAINST ARMY MANUEVER SITE EXPANSION
TOWN OF _______________________

WHEREAS, the people of the Town of ___________________ have carefully considered the significant negative impact of any expansion of the Army’s Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site; and

 

WHEREAS, the people of the Town of ____________________ are aware of the fragile economies of the rural ranching community it is part of; and

 

WHEREAS, the Army already has a tremendous amount of space and access for it’s training and warfare exercises in the United States amounting to over ten million acres already; and

 

WHEREAS, any further removal of land from agriculture and tax roles will have a devastating affect on the the Town of __________, the County of __________, its schools and the State of Colorado; and

 

WHEREAS, our and our childrens’ futures hang in the balance of the decision to be made by our Legislators regarding the proposed expansion; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the Town of __________ agree and support the position of adamantly opposing any expansion efforts by the Army or the Department of Defense for its Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site in Las Animas County, Bent County, Otero County, Baca County, or Huerfano County; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT The , or his/her designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the Town of ______ all documents necessary to secure any required registration or certification of this document.
